Local support

Early this morning when Yandiswa opened her front door she found a parcel and a handwritten note. The note read:

Mama here is food for you to cook for children. I like what you do. It is important. God bless you.

Owen, your streetshop owner.

Owen is one of many residents who have come to South Africa from Somalia. During the 2008 xenophobic violence, Yandiswa decided to cook for victims living in her neighbourhood. It didn’t go unnoticed.

Masiphumelele Creative Hub has many supporters who are helping to spread the word. And it’s working! We have received several donations in the last couple of days. It is very encouraging! Thank you to everyone who is contributing and promoting the organisation.
